Teaching Philosophy:
My approach to teaching is rooted in tried-and-true methods that I have studied or used personally in my own singing, as well as current research in the areas of vocology and performance practice. By making scientific research of the voice as accessible to my students as the interpretive analysis of the music and text, I aim to foster a holistic approach to singing and performing.
Singing is deeply personal, and the role of the teacher is to help their students obtain the tools they need for their unique instrument. I strive to provide a safe and inclusive environment so that students feel comfortable taking risks and trying new things, because stepping out of one’s comfort zone is often the best way to make new discoveries and experience growth.
